FaBOOlous DIY Halloween Sign

Looking to spice up your spooky space with some frighteningly fun Halloween decor? Check out how I created this faBOOlous DIY Halloween sign with just a few supplies and about an hour's worth of time. See the full tutorial on my blog, Bullock's Buzz!

The full list of supplies for this Halloween sign can be found at the bottom of this post, and include a wood base and Halloween ribbon. The wood for the base should be exactly as thick/tall as the ribbon you are going to add to the front side, and wide enough on top to support the letters and the ghost. Mine measures 1 x 1 x 18 inches. If you cannot find the exact size at your craft store, you can go to Home Depot and have them cut a piece for you.

Once I had all of the supplies, I began by painting the wood base and the letters black, making sure to paint all sides and edges.

Next, I cut a length of ribbon, and attached it to the front side of the base using hot glue. Don't you just love the metallic pumpkins on this ribbon?!

While that was drying, I used craft glue to add the orange glitter polka dots to the front side of each letter. Tip: once completely dry, use a light spritz of hairspray to keep the glitter from getting all over the place .

I then used wood glue to attach the letters and the ghost to the base, and hot glue to secure the spider in between two of the letters. Tip: before permanently securing the letters and the ghost to the sign, lay it all out to make sure the spacing looks okay.

The entire project took less than an hour to make (excluding the time for the paint to dry), and cost less than $25! I love the pop of the orange against the black, and the sparkle of the glitter and the metallic ribbon! Head on over to Bullock's Buzz, to read the entire post and see more pictures.
