Scrappy Wreath Thrift Store Inspiration

The Inspiration for my Scrappy Wreath came to me when I took the long way home from work. I spotted a Goodwill store and had to stop in for a peek. As I was parking the car I gave myself a budget of $20. This was a new store to me and I wasn’t sure what I’d find. Well, I came across some grapevine wreaths and I just had to pick a couple up.
One of my favorite ways to craft is to use what I have on hand. Most of us thrifty crafters have scraps and leftover supplies just waiting for us to dream up a creative Idea or two.
Leftover Fabric, Burlap and twine are the perfect materials for my thrift store inspiration.
I traced the template shapes onto my decorative paper and cut them out. The edges were a little jagged so I filed them down with an emery board and used some distressing ink on the edges. I think it gives my scrappy wreath thrift store inspiration a bit of a folk art look.
For the loopy flowers, I cut 1″ circles from the leftover cereal box cardboard and used small pieces of twine turned into loops and glued around the circle filling in with another layer of loops. I added a button in the center to finish off the loopy flower for my thrift store inspiration.
This Scrappy Wreath adds whimsical touch to my summer decor. I think I will hang one of these thrift store inspirations on my covered back porch for the perfect pop of color this summer. Come on over to Creatively Renewed to see my other Scrappy Wreath Creations.
