How To Paint Pinecones Easily With Paint You Have

I love painted pinecones and have tried various techniques for painting them over the years. This tried and true method gives you painted pinecones in any and every color that last!
I gathered some pinecones from my walks and made sure that they were fully dry before painting them. To save time you can bake your pinecones in a 200 or less oven on a lined cookie sheet for 10 minutes or longer. This will also kill any bugs, but watch to make sure that they don't burn.
Next you'll want to wrap some floral wire around the fatter part (bottom) of your pinecone and make a hook shape on the end for hanging to dry.
I prefer to dip my pinecones in paint, as i find that spray painting or brushing just doesn't give that nice coverage that I want. You can paint the pinecones any color that fits your decorating scheme for the year and it's a great way to use up leftover wall paint! Dip and then hang to dry...more tips on that on my blog that will be linked below.
Once the paint has dried you can add some light touches of glitter by brushing with school glue and sprinkling glitter on. Here I'm showing pink pinecones on my table at Christmas time but these are great to add color to your garland or Christmas tree.
