Jute Wrapped Basket Filler Eggs

I've been adding to my decor lately. We’ve been painting and updating our rooms, and little by little, I am enjoying adding touches here and there. I have never been one that likes a lot of knick knacks, but some rooms need more decor then others. My bedroom is minimal. A few lamps, a couple candles and not much more then the necessities of phone chargers and change jar. However, in my den, I have gone with a French Country theme and have lots of adorable things on my fireplace mantle and tables.
I found Easter eggs super duper cheap after Easter like $.25 for a big bag of large-sized eggs. I knew what great filler they would be for a basket. I bought them, spent a little time getting them wrapped, then kept on the lookout for the right basket. I LOVE this little chicken wire basket I picked up for $3. Then, all I had to do was toss the Springtime egg basket fillers in and put it into place. How easy and cute! What a perfect addition to my sweet decor.
I’ve seen filler packages for as cheap as $10 but I spent only a couple cents on these, costs including a little bit of jute, the eggs and a couple dabs of glue.
Take your egg and make sure it is closed. I began in the middle and put on a line of glue around the egg and laid my jute on top, not giving any tension on the jute until I had wrapped it a couple times.
When I had a couple strands across the middle, I began to push the jute more together, so that it was even.
I did half an egg at a time cutting the end off at the tip of the egg and rolling it into the last open space. Then, I let the egg dry and do the other side, beginning again at the middle, lining the cut ends together.
Once finished, I let them dry before use.
Easy home decor for pennies!
