Late Summer Tablescape

Late summer means warm days are still around, and the harvest is beginning. Golden sunflowers and fields of grains give way to ripe peaches and still verdant green trees. Bringing those together in a tablescape, I began with my original design placemats on our dark wood table.

Then in the center, I added an improvisational table topper I made with the leftover fabrics. This became the base of the tablescape.

For the centerpiece, place yellow, orange and white silk flowers in a yellow ceramic basket with lots of green leaves to fill in where needed.

Then, create the place settings beginning with orange chargers. Pick up the green with the napkins, and place tiny flower pot napkin rings on each one. Fluffing the top makes the napkin mimic the flowers.

Add a plate stack of white dinner plates topped with yellow salad plates to pick up the colors in the centerpiece and placemats.

Add everyday flatware, and if you have individual salt and pepper shakers add those too.

Crystal drink glasses complete the settings.

Around the centerpiece, add small leaf dishes in green to finish off the look.

Ready to complement your everyday table in August. A pretty table adds a note of festivity to any meal.
