Melting Snow DIY Sign

Oops I did it again. In testing different ideas techniques for melting crayons a melting snow idea came to mind.
I used white crayons that I found thanks to followers by the box. Yep, you can order boxes of one color crayons.
I made a white Christmas tree on burlap using this technique. Now I tried it on a piece of wood. It turned into a holiday sign.
I chopped 4 crayons like carrots.
Painted a piece of wood.
Melted crayons along the top and letting them splatter over the board.
Then I transferred lettering using the freezer paper technique.
To make a melting snow holiday sign.

Love this, but how do you melt the crayon?

Did I read that you melted the crayons first, before you transfered the lettering? Also, what is the freezer paper method? Thanks!
