20 Minutes
Easy

I love to make these guys while watching TV. It takes less than half an hour to make one.

Make this cute little guy in 20 minutes.

Or you can be like me and make dozens of them, all shapes and sizes!

Begin by tracing and cutting 5 circles from white felt. I used an assortment of plates and bowls, even a roll of masking tape!

The size does not matter. Just make each one a little bit smaller. It depends how large you want it.

A dinner plate as the bottom will give you a palm sized 'snowball'.

Use a running stitch and go all around the circle.

Make sure you use strong thread. It stinks when it breaks on you on the last snowball. Trust me. I use Coats and Clark Upholstery thread, double stranded. Tie a large knot and when you get next to where you started, cut and tie a large knot. And rethread.

When done, it will look like a coffee filter
All 5 ready to stuff

Pull the strings bit, to give you a pouch, and add stuffing or cotton. Pull the strings here and there until full.

When you're good with how it's stuffed, Pull both knots and gather it as tight as you possibly can. Knot it. Knot it again. And once more.

This is what you end up with.

When I'm making fall decor, I stop here and add a stem and leaf for pumpkins.

All 5 snowballs complete

You may want to shape them up a bit before the next step.

Add a line of hot glue around the opening of the largest one. I put a little inside too. Don't overload the sides or it will ooze out.

Take the next size and press and hold for a moment.

Repeat will all snowballs.

All 5 snowballs stacked and glued

I made a hat from black felt. I just rolled it around itself. Cut a circle for the brim and hot glue it on top then add the hat. Since this guy is so tall, I like a tall hat on him.

I used pins for the eyes, nose and buttons. Needless to say, this is not a toy. Add a bit of ribbon for a scarf and decorate the hat if ya like. I like.

And that's it! I have so many of these guys in my house. Most of them are 3 'snowballs'. Some baby ones are only 2. I love the tall ones. It's up to you, of course.

Have fun and thanks for looking.
