This DIY Pumpkin Spice Salt Dough Garland is a fun way to decorate your home with fall salt dough.

This Pumpkin Spice Salt Dough Garland was such a fun and simple project to create!

I used the DIY pumpkin spice salt dough recipe (non-edible) that I shared a few weeks ago to create this fall garland for our kitchen.

While I have completely moved around our fall kitchen decor since these photos were taken, I still kept this fall garland in our kitchen.

Well technically it is now in our breakfast room, but that’s basically the kitchen.

I ended up making way more than I needed so I used what I needed to make this fall garland and then stored the extra pieces in a ziplock bag for next year.

Although, if we have little ones in our home next fall I may just make up a fresh batch for them to play with and create their own fall decorations.

Plus, this is probably one of the very few non-edible recipes that will make your home smell absolutely delicious!

So much so that you may want to make this up for your children to play with while you bake up something yummy for your family to eat.

Materials:

Non-edible Pumpkin Spice Salt Dough

Small Fall Cookie Cutters

Baking Sheet

Parchment Paper

Large Skewer

Cooking Oil (I used  corn oil, but vegetable oil will work good too)

Small Paintbrush

Paper Towel

Yarn

Yarn Needle

Scissors

1. First, roll out your pumpkin spice salt dough.

2. Next, use your cookie cutters to cut the fall salt dough into shapes.

3. Place the (non-edible) fall salt dough cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

4. Create a hole near the top of each piece of salt dough with the top of a large skewer stick.

5. Bake at 200 degrees Fahrenheit until thoroughly dried.

6. Use a small paintbrush to brush a little bit of oil on top of your (non-edible) dried salt dough cookie, then pat it dry with a paper towel. (This will remove the white appearance of oven-dried salt dough.)

7. Thread yarn onto a large needle and then thread the yarn through the hole in the pumpkin spice salt dough cookie.

8. Tie a knot with the yarn around each salt dough cookie to secure it in place.

9. Continue this process, every couple of inches, until you reach your desired garland length.

10. Cut off the excess yarn with your scissors and hang your new fall garland in your home.
