Just paint away!
First sand the pot with sandpaper. Sorry no picture of that.
Paint with gesso. Dab it on the head and make stikes on the nose. If the pot is a dark colour you may need to do this step more times.
Then just paint away! I made my own orange with red and yellow. A extra wihte just in case. Maby you have to do the steps more times.
Draw the eyes mouth and details of the carrot.
For the cap use nittingwol and just glue it in circels on the top. I braided it before I glued it on the make it more of a knitted look. I used kids glue because it's based on water and if I ever want to take it of I just have to soak it in water.
In the end I putt a gloss over it, just to make it a little water resistent. Just in case. If you want to put it outside you should better use a weather risistant kind.
