Wanting a more homey feel. Any excuse to create is a great one!
Using Annie Sloan paints, I painted these frames in 2 coats of pure white. Then sealed frames with clear wax. Painted glass in 3 coats of graphite. Taped off area for label on Ragu sauce jar, then painted 3 coats of graphite .Added old knob to top of lid that I saved from old cabinets in my house before remodeling. Painted lid and knob in shabby paint color Garfield gray Sealed it with their clear Vax.
Easy painting.
Another homey holiday chalkboard message.
Made from thrift store picture and lamp base. If you take socket off lamps, they have a threaded top. I took lamp base to local hardware store for help with wood drill bit and hardware to assemble frame to lamp base. The men in there seem to get a kick out of helping clueless me on such things, ha.
Nostalgic warmth :)
Made this from an old thrift store footboard. Hardest part was appropriate hardware to mount the thing. My local hardware guys to the rescue again. Sorry didn't take pics of this project.
Shot before frames and jars.
Going to add mini marshmallows to painted on Ragu jar. The spoons are in a little dried beef jar. Would love to add some butterscotch morsels and Hershey's kisses ,but with my sweet tooth it wouldn't be good for me, ha! Happy Creating out there and Merry Christmas! :)
