While walking the aisles of my local thrift store I spotted this pot. I loved the shape of it so much so that I went back and purchased it the next day. As soon as I seen it I knew I wanted to use it as a planter.

So this is my pot I purchased from my thrift store.

First step was to remove the handles and prep for painting. Also I drilled three holes in the bottom of my pot for drainage.

I decided to use this metallic antique brass color for my pot. I gave my pot two coats of paint.

So here it is painted, I love the color.

I wanted to decorate my pot and decided to use these plastic leaves I had leftover from a previous project.

Starting from the center at the bottom using my glue gun I attached a leaf to the pot.

I alternated attaching the leaves using different colors and putting one up and one down going completely around the bottom of the pot.

Here is what it looks like with all the leaves attached.

Next I took a roll of jute that I had and using my glue gun once again attached the jute around the bottom of the pot below my leaves.

Here is the jute attached.

Next I took some orange string and using my glue gun attached it right above the jute on the bottom of the pot.

This is what the bottom of my pot looks like now. Next I took the jute and attached it above my leaves and then I took my orange string and attached it around the bottom and the top of the jute. So the jute should be in the middle.

This is what it should look like now. Once your glue is dry you can use an exacto blade to remove any excess glue. Next I wanted to add some detail to the top of my pot so I took my leaves and created a pattern at the top going around the pot.

Here is my pot complete.

Next step was to add my plant. I chose this yellow fall mom. I removed it from the pot it was in and placed it in my new pot planter.

Here it is on my front step with some of my fall decor. I love how this project turned out.
