Winter Planters

I gave my planters a winter makeover and it was totally free! This is a great update or anyone who's tired of eye-sore planters ruining their curb appeal.

After my flowers died in the fall, I wanted to give my planters a winter makeover without spending a fortune. They just looked so sad like this!

I decided to use stuff I already had around the yard. I grabbed the globes from my garden to use in the center. This would also look great with a garden statue or a grapevine globe.

Next, I gave some of the trees and bushes a trim and collected the branches.

I pushed the cut end into the soil and arranged the branches around until it looked full enough.

The center looked a little bare. I gathered some pine cones from my neighbors yard (with permission) to add a little interest. This was also a great way to add some texture and detail without making or buying anything.

I love the way they turned out and I didn't have to spend a dime! They livened up my porch a ton. Eyesore no more!
