I love Christmas, winter and wildlife so when I have an opportunity to combine them, I take it! I have quite the collection of craft supplies and love to go to thrift stores because you just never know what treasures you will find :)
I found these trees at Goodwill and I bought the deer on eBay.
This 10 light fairy light string was just the right size for my project. I bought it on eBay as well. I found the right batteries at the dollar store, 3 to a pack.
Who doesn't have a few bags of this "snow" in their craft stash?
This beautiful lantern was a Goodwill find!
I have a thing about lanterns and seems to buy every one I find :) They are just so versatile.
I especially liked the Victorian look this one had and it already had a great color so I didn't need to paint it.
I simply taped the lights on the floor of the lantern....
...added the "snow".....
....then the trees and deer.
And just 10 minutes later here is the finished product, all lit up.
This could not be an easier project and it just invokes such a sense of peace when you look at it.
It's cute with the door opened or closed and the battery pack for the lights is just inside the door under the snow so it's easy to access.
The sky's the limit with what you can put in your lantern. You could use snowmen, santa and his reindeer, a miniature village etc.
I'm pretty sure this will be displayed until February as it is not specifically for Christmas I hope you like my lantern and it inspires you to make one for yourself or a gift!
