I had a tomato cage I purchased on clearance from Walmart, a tinsel garland from the dollar store, a few ornaments from the dollar store, a couple of glittery clip on ornaments (see that gorgeous butterfly!), and a set of indoor/outdoor lights. I was undecided at first what to make, but, then I decided I wanted a tree for my craft room!
Here is my tomato cage, some red bell ornaments, silver tinsel, a plastic tablecloth in white, and some white zip ties. I also purchased two clip on ornaments (a butterfly and bow) for about three dollars, at Walmart.
The only way I could get the spike ends to fit together (kind of like a teepee) was first with a zip tie and then tightened it up with wire chenille stems. Worked just fine, using what I already had.
I draped the white plastic tablecloth and used a couple of zip ties to hold it in place. If you wanted it fuller, you could add another tablecloth and/or some padding.
After the plastic tablecloth, I draped it with garland and started attaching the ornaments.
The lights are battery powered, so I would place them, and then turn them on with the lights out in the room to check their placement.
I think it's really pretty!
Clip on ornaments really pulled things together. Love the bow at the top!
A piece of Christmas in my (dare I say cluttered?) craft room!
