Super simple project to help you keep your door open!
This bucket I already had. I paid about $3 for it last year at Walmart.
I added a bag of river rock from the dollar store.
Holds the heavy door without a problem, and since using it, it has been knocked over, bumped into, etc. without any issue. This one has a chalk paint area to write things on, so you could write a seasonal or friendly greeting on it. Maybe add decorations for a holiday? You could also use it anywhere in the house.

Another look would be a flat back basket. I buy these at craft stores and the Christmas Tree stores when they are on sale. They can be weighted down the same way, although I mostly use them hanging on the wall to organize things in my bathroom! My main suggestions are that you use a container that will contain your weights (rocks) and one that won't break if someone bumps into it or knocks it over. Have fun with it!
Suggested materials:
  • Tin bucket   (already had)
  • River rock   (dollar store)
