I wanted some cute fall decor to place around the outside of our home.
I knew just what to do when I ran across a stack of these burlap bags at our local thrift store for just$3!!!
Plain burlap sack. Before picture.
My first batch was for my cousins brewery. Check them out on Facebook @rollingoakbrewing. I painted these on with exterior latex house paint. I wanted to make sure it would hold up in the rain.I used a small latex paint brush and a ruler to make sure the wording wasn't crooked.
This is their logo for their business. Again, latex paint brush and exterior latex house paint.
For the fabric part I used some old tablecloths I had in the closest and cut them into strips about an inch or so thick. I wasn't precise in my cutting, I wanted the rustic choppy look.
I then filled the bags full of hay (Once the paint dried). I first thought straw, but I like the character the hay gives.
After the bag was stuffed I tied a piece of fabric around the top and stuck some artificial fall leaves in for a pop of color.
The finished product hanging out on the porch of their new home Rolling Oak Brewing Co. Grayling, MI.
I gifted these to my cousin (on the right, owner of Rolling Oak Brewing Co) and she was thrilled!!!

They have gotten some rave reviews. I'm excited to make some for our new home now!!!

Very cute! I can picture those also holding a houseplant or Mums (pot would be concealed by the burlap). I can also see one hiding an ugly vase or other container then filling it with your cooking tools such as wooden spoons, etc. It would look unique on the kitchen counter.
