Wreath is made with egg cartons and balls from a sweetgum tree. Use a straw wreath base. Prepare the sweetgum balls by dipping toothpicks into glue and sticking one into each sweetgum ball. Dry thoroughly. Using the toothpicks, stick the sweet gum balls into a piece of styrofoam, leaving space for paint to reach all sides. Spray the sweetgum balls thoroughly with gold paint. When dry, brush tops with glue and sprinkle with glitter. Dry thoroughly. Cut equal numbers of egg sections from white and yellow styrofoam egg cartons. Nest these sections with one yellow inside one white, twisting so that all 8 corners are exposed. Stick a prepared sweet gum gall through the center of the nested styrofoam section. Nest the completed balls as close to each other as possible to cover the front and sides of the straw wreath base. This wreath was made at least 25 years ago.

So cute, where I work we pack things in cardboard egg cartons, so I could paint them any color or keep neutral and add other color. And now I remember what sweetgum balls are, lol gotta see where I could find some.

This isn't what I expected when I put up egg cartons, but so glad I did. These are lovely. Thank you for posting.
