DIY All-Year Wreath on a Budget

Decorating for each season can be so much fun, but it can also be costly, time-consuming, and create such a mess! Although I love to change out my decor seasonally, there are some things that I just want as a constant, or as a basis for an easy seasonal tweak. I made this wreath several years ago, and have just added a few sprigs here and there for each season. I was honestly surprised at how easy it was to make, how easy it is to switch it up, and that I haven’t gotten tired of it!!! And the best part-it didn’t cost very much at all!!! Materials Needed:

• Wire cutter
• Floral Wire
• Wire wreath form-you can get these at any craft store and sometimes the dollar stores
• Garland of eucalyptus or greenery-I’ve priced making wreaths all different ways. The most cost-effective option always comes out to be to use a garland. Especially if you wait for it to be half off, or use a coupon!
• Additional swag or bunch of eucalyptus/greenery- Again, the cheapest option is to get a swag or the biggest bunch you can find! Of course-wait for it to be on sale or use a coupon!
• Leaves-I bought the 3 florals shown in long stems at Dollar Tree. I picked off the leaves to use as filler. You probably have some florals in your stash that you can use for the flowers and the leaves.
• Optional-florals, pine stems, cotton blooms The pine stems that I used literally fell of other Christmas decor that I have. I save all of the odds and ends that fall off over the years in a sandwich baggie and use them for all kinds of things! I used them in this cute Christmas lantern. The cotton blooms are only available for purchase in the fall, but you could cut off the blooms from stems as well.
• Hot glue gun

1) Affix the garland around the wreath form

Begin wiring the garland around the wreath, securing it with floral wire in about 5 places around the wreath. Do not cut off any excess garland until you have completely secured it around the entire wreath form. Then secure any spots that are gaping off of the form.

2) Fill in bare spaces with swag or additional greenery

Fill in any bare spots with pieces cut off of the swag, or any additional greenery you have. Either wire the stems, or hot glue them. Cut as you go! You might be able to use the branches that are left attached for another project or to fill in a vase or accent your home decor.

3) Fill any bare spots that may be left with leaves or other embellishments.

Fill in any remaining bare spots with leaves or other greenery until the wreath is full, with no wire frame showing.

4) Add Seasonal Elements

Now you have your own beautiful DIY All-Year Wreath on a Budget as a base to add seasonal elements!

Add some pretty florals for spring! I bought these at Dollar Tree, and pulled off the leaves to use as filler!

I put the wreath on my coffee table for Christmas, stuck in some pine branches that had fallen off of the tree and other Christmas decor, added some candlesticks and ornaments and changed up the whole look in about 5 minutes at no cost!

For fall, I added some cotton blooms that I found in a little package for about $5 at Hobby Lobby. Unfortunately, they are only available in the fall, but you could also cut off the blooms of cotton stems which are available year round.

Instructions

• Wire the garland to the wreath form

Secure the garland 4-5 times around the wreath with the wire until it has gone all the way around.

Fill in with pieces cut off of the swag

Fill in any remaining bare spots with leaves or additional greenery

Fill in with florals, or seasonal items with each season
