This DIY Burlap & Ribbon Valentine’s Day Wreath is my newest wreath creation.

My DIY Burlap & Ribbon Wreath for fall was a fun project. When I originally created it, I purposely used neutral colors and didn’t attach anything to it permanently, so that I could easily revamp it for future holidays.

I knew I could easily turn my fall wreath into a DIY Burlap & Ribbon Valentine‘s Day wreath.

How I Did It1. I Added Valentine Ribbons

I cut 12-inch lengths of two valentine-y ribbons, twisted them together in the middle with a pipe cleaner, and then attached them right on top of the neutral ribbons that were already in place.

2. I Replaced the Pumpkins with Hearts

The pumpkins were just picks that removed easily, and the center pumpkin embellishment was attached with a pipe cleaner, so it came right off. I replaced all the pumpkin embellishments with a valentine centerpiece (from Hobby Lobby) and the wooden craft hearts (from Dollar Tree).

3. I Mod Podged the Hearts with craft paper

I used simple craft paper to give my wreath some color for Valentine’s Day. I traced my wooden hearts onto the back of the craft paper, and then used Mod Podge to attach them. My wreath will be hanging outside on a covered porch and won’t get direct rain or snow on it, but the Mod Podge should keep the paper from curling up because of moisture in the air.

4. I Glued Pipe Cleaners to the Back of the Wooden Hearts

Using a big glob of hot glue, I attached pipe cleaners to the back of each heart.

5. I Attached the hearts to the wreath

Dollar Tree Cardboard Heart Chain

I used pieces of a Hobby Lobby Heart, and cardboard hearts from Dollar Tree to make the centerpiece for the wreath.

Hobby Lobby Galvanized and Wood Heart

I attached the galvanized tin & wooden heart to the center of the wreath using a pipe cleaner, so it can be removed the next time I update this wreath. I decided it needed a bit more color in the middle, so I cut apart a cardboard heart chain that I got from Dollar Tree, and glued one section of it to the wooden heart in the middle.

Then, I attached my other hearts to the wreath by pushing the pipe cleaner through a gap in the burlap and twisting it onto the wire wreath frame. I used 5 hearts and spaced them evenly around the wreath.

That’s It!

In less than 30 minutes, it looked like I had a whole new wreath, with minimal money spent. Plus, once again, I can easily remove the Valentine elements, and create a new look for the next holiday or occasion.
