Easter Mesh Wreath DIY...$12 From Dollar Tree Finds

9 Materials
Decorating for the holidays really sets the mood for your home. It is so much fun to create memories by changing up things based on which special day is coming up next. However, all of those decorations can get very pricey, but it doesn't have to! You can have holiday decor on a budget. Keep reading and I will show you how to make this Easter mesh wreath DIY from Dollar Tree finds. Grand total $12 plus tax! While we are still a bit away from Easter all of these items can be found in store now! As they say, the early bird gets the worm!

These are the items that I gathered at Dollar Tree. I ended up not using the floral tape and a couple of the ribbons. Those will go in the craft closet for another day!

To start off the wreath first get your pipe cleaners and the ribbon you wish to start off with. I prefer to cut my pipe cleaners in equal parts of three. Cutting them into thirds gives you a great length to work with and your package of pipe cleaners goes further this way. Attach the end of your ribbon by twisting your pipe cleaner around it and attaching it to the wreath form. I prefer to start off with the middle wire of my form to give me my pattern for the other rows. Continue around this row by gathering your ribbon and attaching every few inches. This step is all about preference. The larger the loops the poofier your wreath will look.

Once your first row is complete continue to your next one using the same method.

This is what it should look like after your first two rows are complete.

Next, use a complementing color to do your third row. In this case, I choose to use a yellow as the first ribbon had threads of both yellow and blue.

For this wreath, I did the last row the same as the first for balance. Once all of the rows are completed the wreath looks very full.

As you saw above the wreath was full already and would have been fine as is. I believe though that the little details are so important and really add visual appeal. For this reason, I used a smaller ribbon with a bunny print to add over the yellow ribbon. Simply attach it with a pipe cleaner and intertwine it with the yellow.

At this point our base is done! Now we are ready to add all of the extras! Decide how you wish to hang it and where you wish your focal point to be. I wanted to add a bit of pizzazz to the bottom corner so I focused my attention there.

To have a bit of a pattern play I cut a few ribbons in complementing colors and attached a pipe cleaner in the center to create a bow. These were then glued down to the wreath.

Caution-watch your fingers when using hot glue and the mesh. The glue oozes like hot lava through that mesh and gets me every single time!

I found some spring flowers in the floral section at Dollar Tree that went perfectly with the theme. I had to use wire cutters to cut the stems down to make them fit better on the wreath. Then I glued them in using hot glue. The leftover bunny ribbon was also glued on as another ribbon detail.

The bright pink blooms are the perfect pop of spring. For these I popped the blooms off of the wire stems and glued the flowers directly onto the mesh.

The eggs came in a pack of four and were attached to sticks. For this purpose, I removed the sticks and secured the eggs directly to the wreath as well.

Voila and now the finished product! Not bad for twelve items at the Dollar Tree!
