Fresh Evergreen Wreath

Nothing can quite compare to the look of a fresh natural evergreen wreath on your door to welcome holiday guests.
For this project, I use pruners, cutters for smaller branches and wire, pliers, and wire. You can use string instead of wire. I prefer wire myself because I use it quite often. There is no one right way to do it. :)
Gather the kind of branches you want. These wreaths will last much longer outside in cool weather. Inside, they will dry out faster and start to shed but will be fine for a week or so. You can mist the wreath with water every few days. If you buy branches, you can recondition and rehydrate them by putting the stems in water for a few hours. I cut them fresh in the woods of the beautiful UP of Michigan.
Stack up a small bundle of branches the length you want and wire them to a wreath form. Since these are temporary, I just use an inexpensive faux wreath that can be reused later. I wire it a second time up farther to make sure it's extra sturdy. Use the pliers in the back to twist it nice and tight. For the first bundle, I used Balsam, Juniper, Blue Spruce, Cedar, and Winterberry
For the second bundle, I used Balsam, Cedar, White Pine, Holly, and Winterberry. Alternate the branches you want all the way around. When you put the last bundle on, just tuck it under the first one.
Walla! Of course, you can add Pine cones too. If you would like this one already made (in season) or something else, check out my Etsy shop.
