So I had a few Styrofoam squares, had them for sometime and always wanted to do something with them. I decided to look through my craft stuff to see what I had and found some wood letters, which spelled H O M E and Voila! I decided to make a hanging decor for my door.
I started by cutting 4 foam squares to a smaller size,( original size was 10 by 8 inches), I cut them to 6 1/2 by 8 inches. Then I painted them with some acrylic paint.
Next I painted the wood letters black using the acrylic paint.
Next I painted these tile like pieces gold ( I had saved them from an egg carton), figured they were going to be useful one day. I liked how they look.
Then I screwed on 2 eye hooks on the top of the foam squares(except on the top one ) and 2 cup hooks on the bottom aligned with each other. I put some glue to secure them. I also glued the letters on and a gold tile on each corner.
Lastly on the top square I added twine to make a loop used to hang on the door. You could make it shorter or longer depending how you like it to hang.
Finally I connected all the squares by connecting the eye hooks with the cup hooks. I also added a bow on top just because it looked like it was missing something and looked nicer. There it is, all done. What do you think? Would like to hear from you.
