Last year was so difficult that I'm celebrating the holidays this year by recycling and reworking my wreaths from past years with new decorations and a new look. The first wreath to get a make over is my front door wreath.

I bought this woven wreath at Michaels years ago. I loved the organic look of it. I used it to create a spring wreath, but I never really liked how it came out. Luckily, I used a light touch when attaching my decorations and I was able to remove them and turn this wreath shape over to use it again.

I wanted to create my new front door wreath without buying anything, so I pulled out my leftover Christmas floral items to see what I could work with.

First, I used hot glue to attach these white bead things to each side of my wreath. I thought these would make a light background for the other items I wanted to layer on top. I just put down a few drops of hot glue where the beads made contact with my wreath form.

Next, I added some red and green eucalyptus. I also bought this at Michaels years ago. I don't know if it's real or fake, but I like the texture and color it adds to my wreath.

Then I attached some pine pieces to the bottom area of my wreath. I didn't have much of this artificial pine, so I just used what I had as best I could.

Moving closer to the bottom center of my wreath, I layered two artificial holly sprigs to add some holiday color.

Next, I covered up the stems from my holly with a few wraps of some plaid holiday ribbon.

Then I made a bow of the same ribbon and glued it in the bottom center of my wreath.

I love this new look for my front door! I'm going to makeover some other wreaths for Christmas so stay tuned!

Was the wreath spray painted gray at some point in the past?
