Christmas Door Ideas: DIY Door Swag & Lighted Branches

Outdoor Christmas decorations don't have to be expensive - or complicated! We created two quick and simple projects for the front door on our Christmas-Cabin porch that use natural elements like greenery and branches along with a bit of ribbon, berries, and lights. Some basic diy skills later (using wire on the greenery, etc.), we have a merry welcome that looks good both day and night!
Be sure to visit our site to see the whole porch and the other easy projects you can do (link at the bottom).

For the lighted branches, collect a few branches from your yard, arrange them in a metal bucket and secure with stones or sand.
Add lights and ornaments to complete your outdoor Christmas decoration. Tip: we plan on using ours all winter long with the lights, minus the ornaments!
For the door swag, you can start with a purchased faux greenery swag like we did or create your own by wiring greens together (we added fresh greens to our purchased swag for fullness and that wonderful scent). Tuck in a few holiday picks and tie a bow. We used two kinds of ribbon for our bow to make it extra nice for the front door - they look gorgeous together!
Then hang proudly on your front door and enjoy! Tip: This is a festive door decoration that can easily be used again with fresh greenery.
