Turn a Christmas Candy Cane wreath form into a Unicorn Wreath using Loopy Yarn. You can even make it light up! Come see how!

This takes no time at all. You simply wrap the candy cane wreath form with the loopy yarn. Just tie it on at the very bottom and start wrapping.

You can make the mane however you like. I found this tri-colored ribbon that you could actually take apart at each color. So, I cut strips of the ribbon, then inserted them between the wraps of yarn in the candy cane wreath form where the mane should go on a horse. Then, I added a dab of hot glue down at the wreath form to hold the ribbon together.

Once I had filled it up to my liking, I separated the three colors to make it look fuller.

I use glitter foam sheets to form the ears and horn. You can find the pattern pieces for the ears on my blog post. I inserted each of these deep into the loops of yarn and hot glued them securely.

I used foam flowers and hot glued them around the horn to make it more secure. I felt it was a bit floppy without something holding it in place.

I cut an eyelash line from an adhesive-backed foam and just stuck it on the loops where the eye should go.

This step is totally optional, but I'm extra so I love lit up wreaths. I found these round orb battery operated lights at the Target dollar spot, but you can find these on Amazon, too. I just flipped over the finished wreath and popped the orbs into the loops of yarn. They held without anything else. I then used a white zip tie to securely hold the battery pack.

Here is the finished look. I just love it! It's perfect for a little girl's room or to put on the front door to tell everyone this is where the unicorn birthday party is.
