Ombre Heart On Burlap

I don't do a lot of Valentine's Day decorating, but I do tend to create a few decorations when the season rolls around. My valentines crafts and projects are always easy, inexpensive and done in an afternoon. This Ombre Heart on Burlap was exactly that.
I started with a burlap canvas. I cut a heart shape from scrap paper and traced around it on the burlap with a pencil.
Then, I took light pink and red paint to make the ombre effect in the heart. I drew lines in the heart and started with the light pink in the top section and red in the bottom. I added a little more red paint to the light pink paint at each section to make the pink darker as it reached the red section.
I used twine and hot glue to make the word "love" under the heart.
Now, this is the perfect Valentine's Day decoration on our front door. See more details on my blog post.
