Peppermint Candy Wreath or Centerpiece

I've always wanted to craft a wreath using peppermints and this year I finally took the time to do so. My wreath ended up weighing almost eight pounds, so rather than try to hang it on my door and risk having it fall, I am using it as a centerpiece. I'll spray this with a sealer and store it in my freezer so that I can use it again next year.
You can find step-by-step directions for making this project on my blog. Note that the peppermints were glued at an angle.
Note that each row of peppermints is angled the opposite way from the previous row. This gives it a twisted look when viewing it at a distance. This wreath will be quite heavy when complete.
Enjoyed the project?

Sharon on Oct 03, 2015This is so beautiful! I'm so glad you finally got to create your vision. I am a little concerned about your storage plan. Will the candy become sticky from condensation when you remove it from the freezer? I don't really have any better solutions, except perhaps one of those vacuum seal storage bags? It would remove all of the air and protect it from any moisture through the changing seasons. Anyway, I hope you get to enjoy this lovely creation for many years!
