There are also chemical coatings that really do etch the glass, they can be bought at a stained glass supply store or maybe a full-line crafts store.
Last but not least, a roller shade. They’re cheap and you can stencil a pattern or free hand a pattern on them with paints that will bond to flexible plastic. Sharpies will last for awhile.

I go with janet. Cheapest is contact paper or frosted spray paint. Window film can be expensive.
