How can I put a garland around the front door without making holes?

I rent, and the outdoor door frame is brick and wood. Is there some kind of adhesive or tape I could use? Thank you!

    Hi Becky,

There are Command hooks and Command strips, choose the system that would work best for you.

They are available at Walmart, diy stores.

One option is to staple lengths of sturdy wire along the outline where you want to hang the garland. A heavy duty craft style stapler (not a standard desk type) should be able to pierce the staples through the wood without any detectable holes showing when removed.

Then wind the garland through the wire, bunching up and arranging as desired.

Becky....Command hooks will be you answer. Was in the Dollar Tree and saw that they had copies...no idea if they are as good but it surprised me.

Command hooks or siding clips would be your best best.

Sometimes Command hooks remove the paint when taken off the surface they are adhered to.

You could probably drive a few long finish nails in between the brick and the wood. The holes would never show and if they did they would be easy to repair.

  • You could try Command Hooks, but they may not stick outside. There are some clips that I've seen at Home Depot that are supposed to be good. You could try that.
