Would you like to make an easy burlap wreath that doesnt require all of those pesky ties? I'm not a fan of that assembly method so when I saw how easy this goes together I knew it was the way for me to go! To start I simply used a wire wreath ring and 2 rolls of wide burlap ribbon, no ties, no glue.... easy right?

Wreath Ring and Burlap Ribbon

It's as easy as pulling the ribbon edges up through and between the center frame bands. Hopefully the picture depicts this more clearly. I started to thread the ribbons along the middle rings and scrunch and gather as I moved along. I used a crossbar as seen below to be my starting point, it helped to stop the ribbon from sliding on back on the ring as I gathered and scrunched it.

Starting Point in Assembly

Once you get the ring filled up to the next crossbar support you simply cross over underneath and pull up again on the other side to continue again.

Maneuvering around the Crossbar

I pulled the ribbon edges taut as I slid it along the frame, back checking and retouching as I saw the need to create even gathering and fullness. The back should look even as well, if it wasn't it helped me pinpoint areas that required an extra tug on the front side.

Burlap View from the Back

Once I met back up to where I started on the ring I simply snipped the tails and folded and secured them at the back with hot glue.

Snipping the Ribbon Ends

At this joining point I tied some jute string in and out through the metal frame for a hanging loop.

Now comes the fun part, my favourite time in wreathmaking...D & B, decorate and make it beautiful! I used copper spray paint to paint a purchased sign to reallly highlight the message to all my visitors. It was sealed with a satin spray varnish to protect the mdf wood from any wet weather.

Welcome Sign

It was hung onto the wire frame with pieces of jute string and not glue, this allows me to easily change out the accent if I want or hang it straight instead of diagonal.

Preparing the Sign to Hang

I glued on an assortment of floral stems and fall leaves in color tones to match the copper sign and pumpkin bow. I made the wired print and burlap ribbon bow to give it more color and fullness while coordinating it with the Fall theme.

Fall Florals and Bow

It's completed and ready for display to greet and welcome our guests, D & B completed! It couldn't possibly get any easier than that, this is one you need to try to see it for yourself!
