Rustic With Just A Bit Of Glitter Hydrangea And Pumpkin Fall Wreath

Easy
I was browsing through one of my favourite stores doing what I call 'consumer shopping'. My intent is not to buy anything but just to look around for ideas and inspiration.
But when I came across some cute small glitter pumpkins that were not too pricey my browsing mode changed to buying mode. I wasn't quite sure how I was going to use them but when I got home and looked at the mirror above my fireplace mantel I had an idea and inspiration struck.
I used the pumpkins in a wreath I recently made for the fall season!

This wreath is so easy to make. All you need is a silk flower hydrangea bush. I bought mine a Michaels in peachy, burgundy and orange colour tones. The tools you will need are a craft frame, glue gun and scissors or wire cutters.
First I trimmed the leaves and glued them on the craft frame.
Then I snipped clusters of petals from the hydrangea blooms and glued them on top of the leaves.
The last thing I did was glue the pumpkins evenly spaced on top of the hydrangea petals. The final touch was to secure it to the mirror with a pretty coordinating orange ribbon.

Now I don't recommend buying things on impulse regularly. But this was an instance where the pumpkins were the main inspiration for the design of the wreath. The silk leaves and the hydrangea colours give it the rustic look and the pumpkins give it the look of just a bit of glitter. I even have a few extra and they will be put to use on the upcoming Thanksgiving tablescape!
