Many times I come across DIY flower crafts, and I always have the urge to try them.
This time I did ;)
In order to create the flowers I used crepe paper, metal wire, green tape, a hot glue gun and pliers.
I had some green leaves laying around that never came in to use, so I used them to add some color and life..
using the pliers I bent the edge of the wire
I cut petals in different sizes.
using a hot glue gun, I stuck the petals on to the wire turning as I go, I started with the smaller petals and slowly about 4-5 of each size moved on to the larger ones.
I was quite satisfied with the way the flower came out.
I then wrapped the wire with green tape,
and glued on leaves.
now came the question how can I hide the stems..
so I decided to paint my glass vase with the trendy nail polish trick I've seen all over Hometalk posts.
I filled a bucket with water, poured in the nail polish and swished it around with a toothpick to get a nice marble look.
Then I took the vase and dipped it into the paint, BUT once I got half way down, the nail polish that floated to the top finished and I was left with a very pretty vase, but only half way dipped,
but I wanted the vase not to be clear so the stems of my flowers won't show,
so without much thought, I tried turning the vase and getting the nail polish to cover all sides, but it started getting messy, and lost the marble effect.
I took my fingers and started to rub the nail polish around and I ended up with a interesting vase, that I quite liked, BUT my hands were FULL of nail polish, and I was out of nail polish remover icon
so after trying alcohol and scrubbing my hands with soap, I ended up going to sleep with nail polish all over my hands :)

Your flowers turned out beautiful! How many different sizes did you use and did you use a stencil or freehand the petal shapes?
