Add Some "JOY" to Your Home This Christmas With This Easy DIY Project!

I have been working on some smaller projects this past week. I think a home is completed by the details. This project is inexpensive and easy to do. You can create these letters by using any paper design you prefer which coordinates with your home or decor.
I needed something for the space above our farmhouse kitchen sink. I wanted something that also stood out.
Basic wood letters from Hobby Lobby...
A coat of white paint on the sides and edges. (You could use any color paint and also stain)
Trace the letters onto the scrapbook paper and cut the letters out...
Attach the cut-out paper letters to the wood forms using either Mod Podge or basic white glue.
I created a small boxwood and cedar wreath for the letter "O."
And that's it. Took me less than hour, which included running out into the yard in my pajamas - in the pouring rain - to cut the boxwood and cedar. :)
I think it added a lot of "Joy" to our kitchen. For more simple and easy DIY Christmas decorating ideas, please join me at The Everyday Home, www.everydayhomeblog.com

Love your "Joy" project. How large are your letters and where did you find them? I need them to be at least 24" tall and can't find them affordably. Also, love the fabric - where did you get it? Thanks.

I love the paper! Where did you get the white enamel looking box hanging on the hook under the "JOY", and what do you use it for? I've been looking for something like that!

Beautiful and thank you for sharing. I would like to know where you got your paper for the letters. Is it scrapbook paper? If so, is it single sheet or in a pad of Christmas papers?
