Looking to add a boho touch to your Christmas decor? Here is how I made a DIY rope + wood Christmas wall hanging! Check out this project and more easy DIYs on my blog.

This video shows the whole DIY process to make this Christmas tree wall hanging.

Start by wrapping yarn around something the length you want your hanging. I got a 4 foot board and wrapped yarn (3 skeins total) over and over until it was all wrapped. Then use scissors to cut all loops on ONE END only. You'll then have a ton of folded pieces of rope.

Put each loop over the backside of a dowel. Pull the ends up over the dowel and tuck through. Pull tight. If you watch my video you can see this process. Repeat for all strands.

Drill a hole 1 inch in from each end of the dowel and put a strand through and knot it to be the hanger.

Trim so all are the same length.

Lay your hanging on a tarp or similar. Apply painters tape in a Christmas tree shape. Press firmly.

Mix RIT fabric dye with warm water. Use a foam paint brush to paint onto yarn. I did 2 coats - it will dry MUCH lighter than it looks wet.

Optional detail - add wooden beads for "ornaments"! I tied a small knot under each one to hold in place.

Hang on the wall and enjoy!

Quick question. Will the dye come off if it’s touched or rubbed?
