I've always hated throwing away my old Christmas cards, and wasn't a fan of cutting them up to repurpose. Decided to make a Christmas tree to hang outside my office at work. Love how it came out and it didn't cost a dime! I used stuff I already had like green twine, a dollar tree star, command decorating clips, mini-clothespins, and of course my old Christmas cards.
I hung the star first, then set up the clips in a triangle shape, working down about 20 inches between each row. Then I simply zig-sagged the string down until I ended up with the outline of a tree and started adding the cards.
I tried to keep the number of cards consistent all the way down, one of two cards more each row down.
The finals result and it took about 15 minutes tops!
This was the twine i used, but really any twine would work.
And these are the clips.
Thinking of doing a mini tree in my kitchen!
