Christmas in July Lantern
I love Christmas, and even though we are quite a long ways from it, it is never too early to start planning. I was inspired by Hallmark's Christmas in July movies, so I figured why not do something cute and simple!
Materials needed:
Wood slice
Lantern
Polyurethane
String lights
Wreath
Christmas greenery assortment
Pinecones, berries
Tape
Step 1: I read online that it was a good idea to seal wooden slices with polyurethane, and I tried it for this project. However, I didn’t notice much of a difference, so I would consider this step to be optional.
Step 2: I laid the wreath on top of the wooden slice. I had planned to glue it on, but at the last minute decided not to. That way I can continue to use the wooden slice and the wreath for other projects.
Step 3: I inserted the string lights in the lantern and covered the battery box with greenery. In order to keep the lights all the way up, I taped the strands to the top of the lantern.
Step 4: I placed the lantern on top of the wooden slice. I did not attach it, but you can use double sided mounting tape to attach it to the wooden slice, if you prefer.
Step 5: I used a variety of leftover Christmas greenery, from other projects, to make the wreath a little bit fuller.
Step 6: Once the wreath was full, I started attaching berries, pinecones, eucalyptus with frosted berries, whatever Christmas picks you have left over.
Step 7: This is what the final product looks like!
