This year, I want to get started with my Christmas table decor plans early. And I’d love to do all the pieces myself. So I’ve started with the place settings (in the hope that we can have more than one household for dinner)

I got a box of candy canes from my local supermarket. You can buy these in most stores at this time of year though. These cost me £1

To start. I took 2 of the candy canes from the box

I then got a hot glue gun and ran a line of glue down the back of it (I left the wrapper on them)

I then stuck the 2 together at a 45 degree angle. You want them to be able to stand up on a table

I then glued a third candy cane and then stuck it to the other 2 at the same angle. This helped them to be able to stand up together without falling over

The wrappers are obviously still on these, so trim the plastic off the top to make it neat so you don’t see it

I tied a little bit of jute string to keep them tight together

I then got some red ribbon to tie around the canes in a bow

I then tied the ribbon around the canes and tied it in a neat bow

I got brown Kraft card from Amazon to use as the place card. I did a layout on my laptop with a font that I liked and then printed it out (obviously nobody in my family is called Mrs Claus. This was for illustration purposes)

I trimmed it down to size for the place card to sit on the canes

It then sits neatly on top of the candy canes and clear for your guests to see

This is a cheap and cute Christmas table setting and so easy to do

These would also make excellent “easels” for photo card display! I’m going to make some! Thank you so much!
