Christmas Vignettes

I would like to share some Christmas Vignettes I’ve done around our home this season. If your like me and LOVE Christmas, then you want a sprinkling of Christmas magic in every room. I’m still in the process of decorating and adding my sprinkling of Christmas magic, but I want to share with you what I have so far.
A smile just breaks out on my face walking into a room and getting the feel of Christmas. I know your probably thinking “Girl, I don’t have an endless supply of money to add this sprinkling of Christmas magic, unless the magic first includes multiplying my moola!” Here is the thing, you can do this inexpensively by using what you already have.
Here is a vignette I did with a sled I bought a year ago at a flea market. The guy said it was from Germany, so I’m going with that because it makes me feel cool. I’m smitten by the curved front on this thing. I added a tree I made this year (tutorial on that coming next week), a deer I already had, and cake plate with some Dollar Tree ornaments (12 for $1!) and an angel wing candle I made. I already had the candle and I added these angel wings I bought at a garage sale for 50 cents (Yep, this is how I gave you the flea market flip from all my Christmas finds). Then on the wall I added a “We Wish You A Merry Christmas” tree I got one year from my aunt, along with 2 Dollar Tree Snowflakes. See using what you have!
We have a family tradition every year to go to Salado Glassworks and blow our own glass ornaments. We have been doing this with the kids now for about 10 years. These are so unique and special that I want them to be on display for us all to enjoy. So I just took 2 old containers I already had, placed them in there, and then started adding some faux greenery and flowers. 95% of the greenery was stuff I already had and I just cut it apart so it worked.

One group of ornaments is in this Dr. Pepper case that usually holds coasters and remotes. Click on the link below to see how the others are displayed.
Next is one of my favorite vignettes because it is all about my gypsy soul. I’m trying to figure out how to take this vignette and do an entire tree with this theme. You can see how I like to do a theme on our trees for this year and for last year. This one does contain a few things I purchased because my heart said “girl, you know you need this!” I bought this amazing red truck at TX Antiques Week back in September, and the faux snow globe jar I made last year when I found these travel trailer ornaments. Then I just added more picked apart greenery to a crock I already had, added Santa who has been stashed away in a container all year, and then placed some bottle brush trees around. This sits atop of our seed bin and below our seed sign, so the whole vintage theme works.
In Bracken’s room this childhood truck of his dads usually holds sand dollars in his Vintage Coastal Bedroom, but now it’s hauling a load of trees to the farm.

So there you have it, vignettes that didn’t cost much. Click on the link below to see the others. I mainly used what I had on hand. Cut apart an old wreath and floral picks I had, and reworked a lot of flea market finds we have. You just have to dig around your house and use things a little differently to add some Christmas magic!
