DIY Advent Wreath

Hi, I'm Jas from All that's Jas and this is my first (documented) project. Ever since I moved to the US I was looking for a special Advent wreath but could never find one I like. When I saw this log laying around my backyard a light bulb went off. I'll just drill holes in it and call it a day. Easy, right?
First, I hosed down the log to remove the dirt and let it dry. I decided not to stain it as I liked the natural look. With the help of my husband, we drilled four (different in depth) holes. But we forgot to measure the candles and the holes were just a tad tight.
An impromptu trip to the hardware store and we were the owners of a bigger (1-1/2 inch) spade drill bit. That did the trick. The candles fit.
To cover some imperfections, I sprayed artificial snow on the top.
I then added some decorations I already had and voila! Super easy.
I know you're thinking wreath is round in shape and this is not. I couldn't come up with a better name. Yule log? Advent log? Snowy log advent candle holder thingie? Anyway…
Although super easy and quick to finish, we ran into few issues only because I didn't have my ducks in a row. What can I say, scatterbrained is my middle name. :)
