I love decorating for Christmas; but it can get pricey! I love to include DIY decor each year! I always seem to create a new piece of seasonal decor when the holidays roll around!

This year I decided to make a garland to place across the top of my living room curtains. I wanted it to match well with my Christmas tree decor; which has orange slices and homemade fabric and lace ornaments.

I started by measuring out the length of my garland. I then cut twine to match the length.

I had these wood beads on hand; and decided to use them to create the garland.

I wanted my garland to correlate with my Christmas tree, which has dried orange slice ornaments on it. I had these orange slices leftover from my diy ornaments, so decided to use them for my garland as well.

I started by tying a wood bead on one end of the garland. This helped keep the beads on the garland as I strung them on the twine.

Once you start stringing your beads onto the twine, you can decide a pattern of how you want your beads. For instance, I chose to string seven beads, an orange slice, four more beads, then a wreath. I continued this pattern throughout the garland.

I decided to add some tattered fabric to hang my oranges and wreaths from. I used a canvas type fabric; which I cut into strips.

I then tied the fabric onto the twine

Once the fabric was placed and tied where I wanted it; I hot glued an orange slice to the fabric.

I wanted to place wreaths on the garland; and these little wrapping gift toppers were exactly what I was looking for! I found these at Target from the Hearth & Hand section.

I simply used a strip of cut fabric to tie the wreath to the twine.

The garland pairs so well with my tree!!!
