DIY Christmas Church
Christmas decor is evolving with time and people are getting creative in making some beautiful new stuff. The Christmas cottages are always a nice decor piece to have at home.
Here in a video where I show how to make a distressed wooden Christmas church. You can either make it with MDF or cardboard. Very easy DIY and looks gorgeous.
This is what my finished product looks like.
Step one:
Grab a large piece of cardboard and cut out your base shapes.
You'll need four small slanted pieces, a large wide house cut-out, and a longer rectangle with a triangle tip
Step two:
Paint all pieces black on the front and back
Step three:
Rub some wax on top of the black paint. This step is only needed if you want your church to have a distressed look in the end.
Step four:
Paint a white coat on top of all pieces front and back
Step five:
Grab a small piece of sandpaper and sand the edges and ever so slightly on top
Step six:
Stain a popsicle stick and cut it in half for the church's door
Step seven:
Glue all the church pieces together.
Wide piece in the back, skinny tall piece in the front and the small slants go on the roofs of both pieces
Step eight:
Use some other popsicle pieces to make a cross to put on the top of the church
Step nine:
Using a marker draw on some details like church windows
Step ten:
Cut out a triangle piece of cardboard to put on the back for support so your church can stand
Here is my church finished and looking great!
