I made this shelf above my couch last spring and I couldn't wait to see it decorated for Christmas! I added a foux greenery but something was missing. Then I decided to add a garland

For this you will need yarn, toilet paper roll (or paper towel roll) and some wood beads.

I used a large upholstery needle to thread the beads onto the yarn. You can do it without but it made it much faster. Now it was time to make little winter hats out of toilet paper roll and yarn.

You'll have cut the paper rolls into rings then tie the yarn all around!

Here it is! Looks like a jellyfish... anyway next step is to tie the top!

See that little hat coming together?

Cut the top off and here you have it! A tiny little winter hat! I made 3 of these!

Then it was time to tie them to the garland!

Here is the final product! Each hat takes about 10-15 min to make, so I only made 3 of them! If you have the patience you can definitely add more! If you like this project and would like to follow for more DIY ideas and decor follow my Instagram @andreapalmai

After you have all the yarn on then push it back in threw the center & pull yarn tight. This will give you a cleaner ban look on the hat & then tie & trim. I also put 2-3 cotton balls up in the hat for a really cut form.

Hi, I've seen a lot of these little hats. So

cute. It's the background I'm looking at. lol. It's just gorgeous. I love art deco, and you have done the walls and color just beautifully.

    Thank you so much.
