Are you looking for an easy DIY gift to give your family and friends this year? These DIY Christmas Stamped Tea Towels are the perfect gift! Be sure to chef out this DIY and more on the blog.

As an artist this is something that pulled on my heart strings. These DIY tea towels turned out so cute, I cannot wait to make more. It was such a fun, easy, quick DIY it would be great for any age group.

Step Gather your materials

Prepare your painting space and gather materials. You want to make sure none of your paint seeps out underneath, so prep your space well.

Step Your Towels

You can use any type of towels. I used both flour sack tea towels and shop towels from home depot (which look like linen.)

Step Lay Your Towels Flat

Lay towels flat on surface, you can steam or iron before hand if you want.

Step Prep Your Paint Plates

Pour paint onto a plate at least enough to cover the width of the cookie cutters you are using. You want to make sure you completely cover the bottom of the cookie cutter.

You can use fabric paint, or acrylic paint. One acrylic paint dries it should not come off, and should be permanent. I can only speak for the brand of paint I use. To be safe you can use fabric paint.

Cookie Cutters

I used two sizes of cookie cutters. The smaller ones were actually ornaments. Be sure to use tweezers or scissors to hold the edge while dipping into the paint and applying. They are so small your fingers may get paint on them and make paint splotchy upon pressing.

Step Paint

Dip the cookie cutter into the paint!

Step Press Firmly

Press cookie cutter firmly and evenly before lifting and applying to towel. Repeat this until you have the coverage you are happy with.

Note

For a darker look press cookie cutter firmly onto the towel. For a more aged and vintage look press lightly onto towel.

Designs

This was the green Christmas tree cookie cutter on the flour sack tea towel.

Designs

This is the red stocking not the flour sack tea towel.

Step Allow to Dry

Allow the paint to dry to dry completely for at least an hour (depending on your type of paint and consistency.)

Step Packaging

Once your towels have dried you are ready to package.

You can wrap with a ribbon and give as a gift!

These make the best gifts, or even for you just to keep our yourself. They are a fun way to add Christmas cheer to your kitchen. Would this make the perfect gift for anyone in your life? We hope you decide to try this, trust us you will love it!
