I had a toilet paper tube sitting out to remind me to buy more toilet paper. My mom asked me if she could have the empty tube. She had been collecting empty toilet paper tubes to make these adorable snowman Christmas crackers!

We documented the process so I could post it here, and you can see even more details on my website: Save Money and Spread Cheer with DIY Snowman Christmas Crackers
To make your own snowman Christmas crackers, gather basic supplies from around the house.
  • Empty toilet paper tubes
  • White craft paper
  • Red tissue paper
  • Double-stick tape
  • String
  • Markers
  • Sticks

Pick up a package of poppers and some candy from the dollar store to fill the cracker. We also like to include Christmas trivia or jokes.
To start, wrap the white paper around the tube. Twist one end, and push it into the tube. This seals the bottom, and will hold in your treats.
Put the goodies inside the tube, and then add the hat. Simply roll up one edge of the tissue paper to make the bottom of the hat, and then wrap the tissue paper around the tube. Tie the top shut with a piece of string.
Draw on the face and buttons with markers. We used an orange highlighter to make a carrot nose.
Gently poke a small hole in each side. Try not to squish the tube. Then insert small branched sticks for arms.
And that's it! Adorable Christmas crackers that will delight your guests!
