Dried Orange Garland

Guys I am so excited to share with you this super quick and simple diy. This will leave you wanting to put orange garland all over your home for the holidays! It’s such a classic, understated decor and did I mention cheap!! What more could you want!

Cut oranges

Preheat your oven to 250 degrees and slice oranges in about 1/4 in slices. This is really a preference if you would like them thicker or thinner but I do believe about a quarter inch is the sweet spot for drying them out without them being too thin. Line them on a baking sheet with parchment or foil and bake for one hour and then flip. Continue baking for about 45 more min or until you notice they are dried out but before they start burning

Remove from oven

The stuff is pretty simple all you have to do is take them out of the oven I like to let them cool and dehydrate down a little bit more I would say give them about an hour on a drying rack

Wiring the garland

I love to use copper wire on the garland because it helps me manipulate the shape of the oranges but you could absolutely use rope or twine or any kind of mediums for threading the oranges. You could even use fishing line! Obviously if you go with twine or rope you’ll need to thread it through with a needle because the copper wire is sharp I can just poke it right through the center of my oranges

Ta da! Hang your garland

Hang your garland anywhere you please! I even drape them over the kids beds and a lot of window sills! They add such a classic feel to a holiday home. We hope you like this diy and as always you can follow us on Instagram @spoonfulofsugar_ct
