Easy to Make DIY Christmas Tree
Since we don't have room in our tiny home for a Christmas tree, I made a small one for the front porch using scrap boards and colorful stain!
I used tongue and groove planks for the Christmas trees. The boards were assembled then held together using 5/8" brad nails. I drew a curve on the bottom and diagonal lines from top to bottom, then cut the excess away.
I added supports to the back that were secured with screws (and clearly DID NOT pre-drill the holes) to hold the boards together.
I used a spray painted pipe and flange secured to a block of the tree that fell on our house as a base. I secured the pipe to the back of the tree with half pipe clamps and screws, after spray painting it. I sealed the base with spar urethane.
I stained each section of the tongue and groove plans with a different color, then finished with three coats of spar urethane.
I created a second tree and stained it a single color (Varathane Charred Wood Accelerator). This is one of my favorite projects so far!

Having the vertical grooves in the wood makes it easy to wrap trim, such as narrow tinsel, if you wanted to 'spruce up' your tree.

Hi, Carole! It's still a work in progress (i.e. a mess) but maybe someday! Have a great day!
