Filling A Tray For Christmas

In the corner of my living room is an ottoman. It’s a dark corner and I wanted to brighten it for Christmas. First I moved the painting I had used for autumn and replaced it with a shiny mirror. Moving your wall decor around seasonally makes it seem fresh and new.
I layered the ottoman with the tapestry runner
I moved my peace lily nest to the ottoman to add greenery
I added a red tray I had and filled sides with pines cones and ribbons. The pine cones have been lightly highlighted with gold paint.
I added fresh cuttings of greenery from the yard. Before using fresh cuttings, soak them in a bucket of water overnight. It could be in your garage.
I added the lighted snowman I had used in my tablescape, Snowman & Vintage China Table. The final touch was a Christmas flower arrangement. I adjusted the greenery as needed around the snowman and flowers. When you fill a tray, be sure to have varying heights for interest. Varying the textures also makes it more interesting. The flower arrangement has dried botanicals, feathers, faux flowers, and real greenery cuttings from the yard.
The lighted snowman really brightens the corner and adds to the holiday spririt of the room.
Even when the snowman is not lit, it warms up the corner for Christmas
