Great Christmas Craft Using Old/ Vintage Wood Door

Hi all! A couple of years ago, I came across an old wood door at a great price and snatched it up. It sat for quite some time in my garage until I came up with something fabulous to be done with it.
After cleaning the door, I started off by slapping on some washes of paints in different colors, with the majority being grey. I then added some watered down gold paint in random areas. I wasn't particular about this at all!.
Then, I figured out where I would need the bottom urn for what I envisioned for this door.
After I hand painted the urn, I place a star up on top of the door and then proceeded to figure out how to make sure the bulbs I was going to add would be straight.
I put a screw at the top where I would be hanging the start and then two screws at the bottom on each side of the top of the urn. I strung string around each of the screws to make the triangle.
In hindsight, I probably would opt for a different type of glue - some of the bulbs came off over time, but that's easily fixed.
Enjoyed the project?

Beautiful idea, I am thinking of cutting some plywood...stain or paint it silver, then apply the balls on them in the same fashion, to place on our porch.

This looks Great!!! Would be nice if urn could be more 3-D. If there was a way to cut one in half to make it even More Wonderfull!!! Great Idea!!! Can see this with other things too, shells, buttons, old jewelry.. ..

That is awesome. I have done something similar but am not very crafty. I don’t think I used enough hot glue. Is there something I can spray over it to insure it all adheres? Thank u!
