Handprint Christmas Tree Canvas - A Family Heirloom

3 Materials
1 Hour

There is something magical about memories that are made around Christmas and this Handprint Christmas Tree Canvas is fun to make but even more fun to bring out year after year and talk about. It is a family heirloom in the true sense of the word and is filled with our handprints and love.

This tree is made up with the handprints from each of us in our family. We used non toxic water based paint

Mix up the paint and place each colour on to a paper plate for people to press their hands into. It also helps to have a bowl of soapy water and towels on hand fo easy clean up.

Start at the bottom of the tree with the person with the largest hands and work up to the top tapering as you go.

Once you get to the top wash your hands and change your paint colour to gold or yellow and make the star at the top with the smallest handprints by rotating the hands.

We then used finger prints to add decoration to the tree and added the year we made it as the trunk.
