Hanging Christmas Sleigh & Reindeer

Most people hang snowflakes from the ceiling and I thought why not try something different by adding a sleigh and reindeer .

I started out by picking up a piece of white poster board from the store. Then I picked out 5 to 6 Christmas scrapbook paper.

I have a Cricut machine for cutting the shapes but you could always trace and cut a pattern of your own.

I used my Cricut machine and found a sleigh and a reindeer cut that I liked.

You will need to cut the poster board to fit your mat size for your cutting machine.

I cut my sleigh once on poster board and once on printed scrapbook paper. Then I repeated the process with my reindeer cuts. In my case, I made 4 reindeer so I cut 4 reindeer on white poster board. Then I cut the other four from different scrapbook paper patterns.

Using Elmer’s glue I attached each poster board cut to each scrapbook paper cut.

I let them dry before moving onto the next step.

Once completely dried. I decided to add a couple stickers to my reindeers. You may not need this step if you choose a different style reindeer.

Time to add some clear fishing line. Don’t forget to have a hole puncher to make it easy to do.

You will want to measure how far you want your drop from the ceiling. Then double it and add 1 extra inch. Tie one end to the sleigh on left side then tie the other end to the right side of sleigh. Pinch the center when you hold it up and tie a knot. That gives you a circle for hanging.

I started on one side and grabbed a clear tack. The center knot (circle) is where you will put the tack. Making sure it’s is on the opposite side of the plastic side of tack. It will lay by the push pin side that way it can’t fall off.

Repeat this with all your reindeer. You can zig zag the reindeer and even add more if you want.

the opportunities are endless and they are light weight so they hang nicely and won’t fall off.

The sizing of your pieces is up to you.

I hope you liked my little paper craft.
